Next Step: Apply for Permanent Partial Disability (PPD).
What you need to know:
- Every injured worker in Ohio is eligible to file for a PPD award.
- BWC will scheduled a doctor's evaluation to determine what permanent partial impairment you have as a result of your allowed conditions in your claim.
- Based upon the results of your evaluation, BWC determines your compensation with a formula which takes into consideration your average weekly wage.
- Your employer or your attorney can object to the BWC award. If an objection is filed, you will have to attend additional doctor’s appointments and a hearing with will be scheduled to determine the award.
- This is NOT A SETTLEMENT. A PPD award extends your statute of limitations giving you more time in your claim.

- Watch your mail for an exam notice with the date, time and location of the evaluation.
- Call, text or email your paralegal with any specific questions.
Exam availability: Momings (7 a.m. to 12 p.m.), afternoons (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.). We attempt to accommodate your requested exam availability.
