"When a Work Related Injury Hits Home" Scholarship
2011-2012 Scholarship Program: Program Description
PURPOSE:
To assist six high school seniors in Northeast Ohio high, who meet specific criteria, finance their education.
ELIGIBILITY:
High School seniors in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, and Summit counties) with the exception of relatives of Seaman Garson LLC staff and others with close ties to Seaman Garson LLC or the contest. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and ACT test score of 18 or above and/or SAT test score of 860 or above.
ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
Cleveland Scholarship Programs (CSP) will serve as the administrator of the Seaman Garson LLC "When a Work Related Injury Hits Home" scholarship award and the winners will be selected by CSP (including a representative from Seaman Garson LLC). Funds will be sent to CSP from Seaman Garson LLC to cover administration and scholarship disbursement to the students' institution.
Factors that will be considered in selecting the winners are:
1) Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant's "When a Work Related Injury Hits Home"
Essay.*
2) Financial need will not be a consideration.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Six non-renewable scholarship awards totaling $7,500 (First Place - $3,000; Second Place - $2,000; Third Place - $1,500; Three Honorable Mentions @ $500 each) to a Pell-eligible university, college or vocational school. Students will be required to submit grades and verification of enrollment on a regular basis.
